Common Name: Azalea Hardy Gardenia
Description: White waxy flowers have a strong and distinctive fragrance. Leaves are dark green and glossy. Grows well in acidic soil, which (lucky us) is what we have here in Portland. True to its namesake, 'Hardy Gardenia' features clusters of snow white blossoms atop a backdrop of deep green foliage. Growing as a compact, mounding shrub, it looks great in low hedges, foundation plantings, shrub borders, and decorative containers. 'Hardy Gardenia' flowers in spring and fall, performing best in partial shade and well-drained, acidic soil. Its radiant blossoms draw in pollinators and make a bold visual impact in any garden.
