If you become a member of the Friends of the Arboretum you will receive special access to the Plant Sale. Wednesday, April 9, 2025 is a Special Preview Day for Friends of the Arboretum Only!! If you sign up to become a member of the Friends of the Arboretum, you will get an opportunity to preview and do private shopping and purchase your plants prior to the general public sale that starts on Thursday, April 10 and runs through Sunday, April 13.
Every year on a Wednesday afternoon (Noon to 4 pm) the sale is only open to Friends members. In addition, you will help support the most spectacular public gardens in southeast North Carolina. FOA members and volunteers contribute with their dues, time investment and unique talents – and receive a range of special discounts and member privileges in return.
In addition to the Plant Sale benefits, belonging to the FOA provides you with these additional Membership Benefits throughout the year: 10 percent discount at the Arboretum Gift Shop, and a 10 percent discount at participating retail establishments. Go to our website for a complete listing.
You also receive an Invitation to the annual meeting and membership party, admission tickets to the annual Art in the Arboretum Show, and free entry to nearly 350 gardens throughout North America that participate in the reciprocal admissions program of the American Horticultural Society.
